Attorney Sofía V. Rico Maldonado graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law in December 2024. She was recognized for achieving the third-highest score on the Puerto Rico General Bar Examination in March 2025. During her legal studies, she served as a teaching assistant for Civil Procedure and Notarial Law II, and as a staff writer for the Revista de Estudios Críticos del Derecho (CLAVE). In 2021, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Summa Cum Laude, with double minors in Justice Systems and Psychology at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in Puerto Rico.
Prior to her admission to the bar in July 2025, she worked as a legislative journalist for a digital media outlet and later as a press officer and public policy analyst in a legislative office. Additionally, during her final semester of law school, she served as a paralegal at the law firm Aldarondo & López-Bras, where she currently practices as part of the legal team.
